Not only has Attorney General Alberto Gonzales
failed to explain the firing of eight U.S. Attorneys, now
he's "tightening the leash" on people who prosecute federal
crimes through an unfair performance review process - a
process that will include politicians' gripes against the
prosecutor!
Attorney General Gonzalez must be dismissed for
his role in the Justice Department's firing of federal
prosecutors and other abuses of power >>

Gonzales' indicates the new prosecutors' review would
include a "process" to tell them what they're doing wrong -
but nothing that would impede dismissing them for any
reason. This process wouldn't measure how well a prosecutor
does their job, but how loyal he or she is to the
administration's agenda.

Somehow, Gonzales has survived the months of
controversy despite members of the president's own
party making the case for his removal.
What's more, President Bush and Attorney General
Gonzales continue to refuse to let senior officials
testify under oath, or to provide important
documentation about any role they may have had in the
eight firings!
